Building confident riders through proven methods and genuine partnership with horses
Gejero began in 2015 when Sarah Chen returned to Singapore after completing advanced equestrian certifications in Europe. With 12 years of riding experience across dressage, show jumping, and cross-country disciplines, she recognized a gap in the local riding community. Many riders struggled to progress beyond basic skills, not due to lack of dedication, but because they lacked access to structured, personalized instruction rooted in classical horsemanship principles.
Starting with three students and partnering with established equestrian facilities in Bukit Timah, the coaching practice grew steadily. Within two years, the student base expanded to 28 regular riders ranging from complete beginners to intermediate competitors. What set this approach apart was the emphasis on understanding equine psychology and biomechanics rather than simply learning patterns and movements.
By 2018, Gejero had trained five students who successfully competed at national level events. The coaching expanded to include specialized programs for different riding styles and age groups, from children starting at age 7 to adults discovering their passion for horses later in life.
We develop riders who communicate effectively with horses through proper technique, timing, and feel. Each lesson focuses on building fundamental skills that create lasting results, whether the goal is recreational riding, competitive success, or simply enjoying time with horses.
To establish a community of educated riders in Singapore who prioritize horse welfare, continue learning throughout their riding journey, and pass on sound horsemanship practices to future generations. We aim to raise the standard of recreational and competitive riding through accessible, quality instruction.
Every session prioritizes rider and horse safety through proper equipment, facility checks, and risk assessment. We maintain current first aid certification and emergency protocols.
Horses are partners, not equipment. We work only with facilities that maintain high standards of care, and we adjust training methods to suit each horse's physical and mental needs.
We set realistic timelines and provide clear feedback. Riders advance based on demonstrated skill, not arbitrary schedules. This builds genuine confidence and prevents dangerous gaps in ability.
Equestrian instruction evolves with new research in sports science, animal behavior, and teaching methods. We regularly attend workshops and maintain professional certifications to offer current, effective coaching.
Each rider brings unique goals and challenges. From complete beginners taking their first steps in the saddle to experienced equestrians refining advanced techniques, these projects showcase the diverse range of training programs delivered at our Singapore facility.
